Commission Issues Thank You Letter to Padlock Ranch

The Sheridan County Commission has ratified a letter to the Padlock Ranch thanking them for their help during an incident that happened on Highway 343 near County Road 118 on October 17.
A cattle truck carrying livestock overturned and personnel from the ranch responded to help.
According to the letter the driver of the truck was uninjured, but ranch personnel extracted the cattle, contacted a nearby ranch and secured them in a pasture.
The letter stated, “first responders to the scene did not have the skill nor the expertise to handle the cattle as quickly and efficeintly as the Padlock cowboys. They roped, pushed, and even pulled the tail of a bull to get them out of the trailer and into the nearby pasture safely and without delay.”
Although no one asked them, Padlock Ranch personnel showed up to the scene and “did what ranchers do, help when help is needed.”
