Council Adopts Budget Resolution During Special Meeting

During a special meeting of the Sheridan City Council Monday night, the budget for the fiscal year that begins on July 1, was approved in the form of a resolution. The overall budget for the City is $54.9 million with a little over $13 million appropriated for the General Fund and $12.6 million in capital projects. City of Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger.

The budget resolution was not approved unanimously by the Council, as Councilman Clint Beaver voted against adoption of the budget.

Prior to approving the budget, the Council, voted against budget amendment #3. The amendment, if it had been approved, would have  discontinued the Malcolm Wallop Park Pond Project by returning grant funding and reallocating $200,000 in funding towards Black Tooth Park for restrooms and an inclusive playground. Councilors Shawn Day, Kristin Jennings, Jacob Martin and Clint Beaver voted against budget amendment #3, while Councilors Aaron Linden, Steve Brantz and Mayor Rich Bridger voted in favor of the amendment.
