Aaron PalmerThe Hoofprints of the Past Museum in Kaycee will be offering a Johnson County Cattle War Tour on Saturday, August 12 but the deadline to register is Sunday, August 6.
The tour will be conducted by bus from Kaycee, with narration by John W. Davis and Brock Hanson.
According to the museum’s website, stops will include the KC Cabin Fight site, Plunkett’s Horse Ranch, the Smith homestead site, the historic 28 Ranch, and the TA Ranch.
The tour will also stop at the assassination sites of John. A. Tisdale and Ranger Jones, whose murders occurred in the months leading up to the war, foreshadowing the events of 1892.
The cost for the tour is $100 per person and includes lunch at the TA Ranch.
