Bronc Football Leadership Camp Starts Today / Cheyenne and Gillette Post Victories in Regional Tournament / Rockies Fall to the Cubs

SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL – The Sheridan Bronc football team officially opens the new season Monday morning at 7:00 with the first of two a day practices, today the Bronc coaches and seniors head up to the mountains for their annual two day leadership camp they will host the annual player / parent meeting will be held Sunday at 4:00 at Sheridan high school.

Looking ahead to training camp we asked Head coach Jeff Mowry what is the most important part of week one.

The Broncs open the 2021 season on the road August 27th at Laramie

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL – The American Legion Northwest regional tournament got underway in Gillette Wednsday, day one was a good day for both Wyoming teams playing in the tournament.

In first round action yesterday Yakima, Washington beat the Billings Royals 8-5, Idaho Falls beat Helena, Montana 4-1, Cheyenne knocked off Eugene, Oregon 5-1 and Gillette got by Eagle River, Alaska 2-1.

Today in loser out action the Billings Royals play Eugene then it’s Helena vs Eagle River.

In the winner’s games Cheyenne plays Yakima and Gillette takes on Idaho Falls.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Colorado Rockies dropped last night’s game to the Chicago Cubs 3-2 they play the series finale this afternoon at 1:10 you can always hear Rockies baseball on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.
