Troopers Baseball Season Ends / Rockies Drop Road Game in LA / Hawks Junior Hockey Will Host a Team Fundraiser in August

TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers lost 12-6 against Casper yesterday at the state tournament were eliminated, Evanston eliminated Gillette 3-1 and in the winner’s semi final Cheyenne crushed Laramie 16-0.

Today’s schedule has Casper playing Laramie and Evanston taking on Cheyenne.

JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks hockey program is getting ready to host their annual golf tournament at the powder horn next month Head coach Andy Schieb says they were able to hold the event last summer and it’s a fun way to kickoff their season.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – Shohei Ohtani continued his power display Wednesday, crushing a three-run home run, and Phil Gosselin had a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning for the Los Angeles Angels, who rallied for an 8-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

The Rockies open a road series at San Diego tonight first pitch is at 8:00 you can hear Rockies baseball on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.

BRONCO FOOTBALL – Drew Lock took the first snaps during 11-on-11 drills when the Denver Broncos opened training camp. The biggest competition is at quarterback, where Lock is vying for the starting job with veteran Teddy Bridgewater.

Coach Vic Fangio plans to split snaps evenly and give both quarterbacks a start in the preseason before deciding which one will lead the team in 2021. Bridgewater and Lock are taking similar approaches to the QB clash, saying their primary goal is to get the team that hasn’t been to the playoffs in five years back on the winning track.
