The Sheridan High School Nordic Ski Team is only in its 3rd year of existence, but for the first time in school history, the team is hosting a meet.

The event will take place tomorrow at 1pm and Saturday at 10am on Cutler Hill.

Head Coach Falk Alicke says the Broncs and Lady Broncs have practiced some on the course both this season and in years’ past.

The skiers also know about a hill that can be a hindrance.

“We have done a lot of repeats on the most difficult hill in this race, so everybody knows how painful that hill is and what it takes to not blow up on this hill. All of my varsity skiers know the course extremely well and so we do have a home advantage. You only once get to host the first race, because after that everybody kind of knows at least about it.”

For those wanting to attend or are simply passing through on US Highway 14, WYDOT has advised motorists to watch for heavy school bus traffic in the area.

Parking on the highway will be limited to buses and emergency vehicles only.

If you are approaching by way of Ranchester and Dayton, there will be a remote parking lot on the left about 3 miles before Cutler Hill.

Shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from the event.
