Three Sheridan College Rodeo Competitors Place In Top 8 At 2024 Colorado State Rodeo Event

Sheridan College competed in Fort Collins between April 5-7 against teams from across the region, including the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University.

Sheridan’s Wyatt Phelps placed first in bull riding with a total score of 144 for the weekend for both of his rides.

This is his second win of the spring season in bull riding, moving him to second place in the current Central Rocky Mountain Region standings.

Phelps also placed first in Torrington at the Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo on March 24th.

SC cowboys Tayson Jones and TW Flowers placed in the saddle bronc over the weekend.

Jones earned fifth place with a combined score of 136 for his rides, and Flowers finished with a total score of 132 for an eighth-place, three-person tie.

Sheridan College Women’s Rodeo Team is currently ranked ninth in the Central Rocky Mountain Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, and the Men’s team is eighth in the region.

Two more rodeos remain in the spring season.

The teams will travel to Casper College to compete April 12-14.

The College National Finals Rodeo is scheduled for June 9-15 in Casper, Wyoming.
