BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER – Now that the weather has let up, the Sheridan boys and girls soccer teams have recently had a chance to play a home game this season.

Last night Kayleigh Thomas scored twice and Ella Bilyeu found the back of the net, as the Lady Broncs shut out Buffalo 3-0, to improve their record to 3-and-2 on the season.

Head coach Kevin Rizer says so far this season the team has shown moments when they can be really good, and other moments when they are inexperienced.

Since the team has had to have a lot of indoor practices so far this season, that makes it difficult to work on certain game situations.

The Lady Broncs will get a lot game opportunities to work on those situations as they have to play a number of make-up games, this week and early next.

They will make-up their game at Cheyenne East on Friday, then make-up their home game vs. Laramie on Saturday, but that game will be played in Douglas, and then they make-up their game at Thunder Basin Monday.

Meanwhile the Broncs made the trip to Buffalo last night and picked up a 2-0 win to run their record to 5-1-and-1 on the season.

The Broncs are last year’s 4A state runners-up and coach Wade Kinsey says this year’s team is deep with experience.

The way high school soccer works in Wyoming, most of Sheridan’s games are focused in the 4A East, which doesn’t allow much of a chance to play or let alone see a team in the west, until the state tournament.

Kinsey adds his team is focused on the East, but occasionally he checks to see what’s going on elsewhere.

The Broncs have the rest of this week off from competition, and will play Monday at Thunder Basin.

TRACK / FIELD – The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams both took first place at a meet in Cody Monday, next up is a big invitational in Rapid City Friday.

Next week on Tuesday Sheridan high school host the annual “Gary Benson” Border War invitational and next week on Saturday they host the annual “Dan Hansen” invitational.
