Coaching has its own rewards, and not just during the season.

Some of the accolades come after the season is over.

Three head coaches and two assistant coaches from Sheridan County High Schools, were named by the Wyoming Coaches Association as either Coach of the Year or Assistant Coach of the Year for the fall 2022 season.

Sheridan Head Coach Jeff Mowry won the honor in 4A football, after leading the Broncs to their 2nd consecutive state championship, on top of a 12-0 season.

Big Horn Head Coach Kirk McLaughlin was named 2A Football Coach of the Year, after the Rams won the State Championship with a 10-1 record.

Marshall McEwen of Sheridan as well as Andrew Marcure of Big Horn were named Co-Assistant Coaches of the Year.

In her first year in the position, Kelley Glackin of Sheridan was named Coach of the Year in tennis.

The Lady Broncs tennis team finished as state runners-up in the 2022 season.
