Kasey Garnhart Era begins – A new era officially starts today within the Sheridan High School Activities Department as Kasey Garnhart is now on the job.
He’s held the same job at Rawlins the past 3 school years, and before that he was an assistant AD in Sheridan.
Garnhart says he’s been involved with athletics and/or activities ever since his high school days which ended in 2008.
He adds he has first hand experience with the joy and effect that activities can have on a student, and he wants to see that continue.
Garnhart has a little more than 1 month to prepare things as football, golf and tennis practice starts on August 8th, and all other fall sports start practice on August 15th.
Troopers Win 2 at Billings – The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball Team got back on track by winning twice yesterday at a tournament in Billings.
First the Troopers defeated the Billings Royals 14-to-5, and then beat the Northside Dirt Devils out of Loveland, Colorado 7-to-1.
Sheridan is scheduled to play Jackson today at 2:30pm.
They will also play tomorrow and Sunday, and those opponents and start times are to be announced.
The Troopers will be back at home on Thursday, July 14th for a conference double-header against Gillette.
Meanwhile, the Sheridan Jets dropped both games of a double-header last night at home against Powell, losing 5-to-3 and 9-to-7.
The Jets continue their 3-day 3-game homestand today at home against Lewistown, Montana, starting at 3 and 5pm.
Tomorrow they play at home vs. Lovell starting at 5 and 7pm.
Rockies Start Series Vs. Diamondbacks – Yesterday was an off-day for the Colorado Rockies and they are back in action tonight as they begin a 3-game home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:10pm.
