John Sherard Sr.

John William Sherard Sr. was born on November 2, 1945, and passed away on December 11, 2021. John had a love for the rodeo, and could always be found wrestling the wild horses during the wild horse races and the cows during the wild milk cow race. When he was home from being over the road driving a truck, you could always find him at the lake fishing. The kids speak of and remember John bringing horses in for them to bombproof. He taught all of us kids to whether it was his own kids his grandkids his nieces and nephews how to maintain and work on our own vehicles. John loved to dance and could always be found at the restaurant for coffee in the morning and usually two or three times throughout the day if he wasn’t at the lake or over the road. John’s laugh with a laugh that you could hear no matter where you were at or how chaotic an area was. John was devoted to his family in his own way. He was an amazing cook. John was preceded in death by his father Harold (slim) Sherard, his mother Hazel Harris Sherard, his brothers Sonny Sherard, Jake Sherard, Jake’s wife Jeanie Sherard, his granddaughter Aleshia Waters, her two children, Mason and Julianna, his niece Teala Sherard. He is survived by his sister Nila Yoctorowic, his brothers George Sherard and Clayton Sherard, his children; Bill Sherard, Gary Sherard, Julie Comeaux, Shane Prince, Tohniejo Brimmer, Bonnie Northup, his wife Janine Sherard, a few lady friends along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. We will be holding a small memorial at the Lariat/Sundance in Gillette Wyoming on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. for those that can make it. We will do a larger memorial service/ celebration of life at lake Desmet Buffalo Wy at Monument point on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 2pm during Memorial Day weekend.
