A celebration of the life of Mike McNealey, a 71-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming following a short illness, will be held 10AM on Friday, August 2nd, 2024 at Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo. A reception will follow at the Johnson County Library, also in Buffalo. Donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter at 106 Flatiron Dr. in Buffalo, Wyoming. Michael Dean McNealey was born on August 8, 1952, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Dean and Eva McNealey. He grew up and went to high school in Sheridan. After high school, he worked at various ranch jobs around Sheridan. He and his first wife Richie moved to Davenport, Iowa, in 1973, where he worked for Alcoa Aluminum as a crane operator. In 1980 they moved with their two sons back to Sheridan, where he cooked at various restaurants and lodges. Following a divorce, he was married on October 5, 2002, to Cathy Pryor, and they made their home in Buffalo, where he continued cooking and also worked for Cooley Images. He owned and operated Mike’s Painting and painted commercial and residential for several years. He retired in 2014 and worked part-time at both City Liquor and Crazy Woman Liquor. They continued living in Buffalo until his death.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time in the mountains fishing and camping. He was a dedicated member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife Cat McNealey of Buffalo; two sons, Chris and Bryan McNealey, both of Sheridan, Wyoming; one step-daughter Stephanie Noyes and her husband Derrick of Oxford, Nebraska; two step-sons, Brian Pryor and his wife Audrey of Kaycee, Wyoming and Scott Pryor of Rock Springs, Wyoming one brother Jim McNealey and his wife Evelyn of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Mary Feindt, and her husband Rich of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his special friends, Midnight and Rowdie Girl, his beloved cats. He was preceded in death by his parents Dean and Eva McNealey.

We wish, as a group of friends and acquaintances, there would be some kind of celebration of life now. We want to share our memories.
