Marvin Allen Kehrwald born May 7, 1963, in Sheridan, WY passed away on April 19, 2023, in Riverton, WY. Marvin was born in Sheridan to parents Evelyn and Clifford Kehrwald. He met the love of his life Kristen in 1991, and he became a father to Kyle. They went on to have one more child, Shelby.

Marvin had worked for many years at Wyoming Sawmill in Sheridan. After the sawmill closed Marvin went on to finish college earning his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. In 2016 Marvin and his wife Kristen moved to Riverton to full fill his dream of becoming an elementary school teacher where Marvin taught 3rd grade at Fort Washakie Elementary School. He absolutely loved teaching pouring his heart and soul into the profession, often spending much of his day with his beloved students.

He also coached basketball, football, and wrestling in the Fort Washakie community. Marvin had the greatest sense of humor and would always have people laughing, there was never an awkward moment when he was around. Racing was a big part of Marvin’s life he had many racecars over the years but eventually moved into the spectator section. He loved to go on adventures with his family and many of those trips included racetracks.

He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and if the television was on it was usually on some type of sport or Western movie. Marvin was a wonderful, loving husband, a supportive father, and an amazing grandpa. One of his biggest joys in life was being a grandpa, his grandkids adored him and they could sure cause a lot of mischief together.

Marvin is survived by his wife Kristen and their two dogs who were like his kids, Marley and Reno. He is also survived by his son Kyle, daughter Shelby, and two grandkids, Rylinn and Ryker, mother-in-law Billie Abee, brother-in-law Lance Rexroat (Jennifer), sister-in-law Linda Morris and 3 nephews. Marvin was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Clifford, and brothers Clayton Morris and Vern Morris. Funeral arrangements are pending but will be held at the Fort Washakie Elementary School in Fort Washakie because that school meant the world to him.

I feel lucky to have been able to get to know Marvin during most of his teaching years at Fort Washakie School. He and I team taught third grade. I respect Marvin’s ambition to become a teacher as a second career. He became a great teacher that was devoted to finding fun and creative ways to teach his students. I will miss my teaching brother!
