Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL – The Sheridan high school basketball teams split games at Kelly Walsh Friday and swept Buffalo at home Saturday.

The Lady Broncs pulled off a great win at Kelly 61-60 and came back home and beat Buffalo Saturday 54-46 and they did it short handed with two starters out with injury, Head coach Ryan Sullivan says the Lady Broncs did a nice job of staying focused and picked up two nice victories.

The Broncs started slow Friday at KW and lost 69-54 they did come back with a blow out victory Saturday beating Buffalo 72-39, Head coach Jeff Martini says the players had a good day Saturday after a rough night Friday.

Now they go on the road for two tough games at Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East.

BH BASKETBALL – The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams took on Wright and Rocky Mountain the Lady Rams dropped both games while the Rams split with a victory over Wright Friday and a 20T loss at Rocky Saturday.

TR BASKETBALL – The Tongue River teams spend the weekend at home hosting Sundance and Moorcroft the Lady Eagles lost both while the Eagles won both.

Coming up on Thursday Tongue River will host games with Big Horn.

AC BASKETBALL – The Arvada / Clearmont Panthers and Lady Panthers played at Kaycee and Guernsey went 1-2 on the weekend.

WRESTLING – The Bronc wrestlers were 3rd at the annual Ron Thon invitational in Riverton. Dane Steel at 152 was the Broncs lone champion.

SWIMMING / DIVING – The Bronc swimmers and divers were 7th at the Gillette invitational this week the post season begins with the conference meet in Cheyenne Friday and Saturday.

JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks split with Cody they lost Friday 4-2 and came back for a 3-1 win Saturday, the Hawks travel this week to play in Butte, Montana.

UW BASKETBALL – The Wyoming basketball Cowboys beat the Air Force Academy at the buzzer Friday night, they host Colorado state tonight you can hear the game on 14-10 KWYP and 106.9 FM tip off is at 7:00.

Next up for the Cowgirls in more league play on the road Wednesday at the Air Force Academy.
