Sheridan County Opts to Join WCCA Workers Comp Program

The Sheridan County Commission this week voted to join a workers compensation program drawn up and offered by the Wyoming County Commissioners Association.

According to a copy of the agreement, the WCCA and the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services Workers Compensation Division have created a County Employer Group to collectively coordinate and manage workers compensation coverage to eligible counties and their employees.

County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller explained the agreement further.

Commissioner Mike Nickel thought the program was good for the county.

Obermueller said most counties have already signed on with the program but there are still some bigger counties that still need to adopt the program, and full participation by the counties is needed for the program to work.
