He’s the voice that you’ve heard on the radio for the Sheridan Broncs and occasionally for Big Horn and Tongue River.
That voice has made one of our own the best in the state.
The National Sports Media Association has named Trevor Jackson the Wyoming Sportscaster of the Year for 2021.
He’s been doing radio-by-play since he started in 1985 in Douglas.
Jackson then joined Sheridan Media in 1988 and has been there ever since.
He says he started doing play-by-play for the love of sports and has enjoyed it ever since.
The Sheridan area has been a good town and community to him and it’s where he met his wife.
Jackson will officially receive his award in late June at an award ceremony in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
This is the 2nd time he has won the award, the other was in 2016.
The NSMA is a non-profit organization, which seeks to develop educational opportunities for those who are interested in pursuing a career in sports media, through networking, interning, mentoring, and scholarship programs.
Voting for the award is done within the state by other members of the NSMA.
