Buy a ticket, support the future

The history of the American Association of University Women can be seen throughout the progress of the United States. As the number of women graduating from college grew in the U.S., so did their membership.
The Sheridan Branch of the AAUW was formed in 1914. This year marks the 107th year the organization has been educating, promoting and fighting for equal rights among the women of Sheridan County.
Locally, the AAUW supports the Rowena Griffith Emergency Endowment Grant Fund at Sheridan College. The fund helps women to achieve their goal of a higher education by helping with emergency expenses. These can be unexpected events such as a high utility bill or a need for tires that would otherwise cause the woman to drop out and seek employment.
This year, the AAUW has partnered with Sheridan’s Cottonwood Kitchen and Home and owner operator Jessica Garrelts to display and raffle a handmade quilt by Oma Birgenheier. The proceeds will go to the Rowena Griffith Emergency Endowment Grant Fund at Sheridan College.
