JCHC to Look Into USDA Loan for Construction

The Hospital Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center (JCHC) voted to approve CEO Luke Senden to pursue funding through the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the second and third phases of their upcoming capital construction project on the facility.
The first phase will begin this month and will construct new patient rooms and renovate existing rooms in the hospital. There will be a new nurses’ station, storage areas and support facilities for a cost of roughly $6 million.
Phases Two and Three will renovate the clinic, physical therapy area and update other areas of the building for an additional $9.5 to $10 million, which they are looking to finance through a loan.
Senden gave the board a number of options for financing during their last meeting, and the 35-year loan through the USDA was judged to be the better option to pursue.
The board voted to immediately pursue the USDA loan.
