Barrasso: Republicans Won’t Rubber-Stamp Democrats’ Reckless Spending
U.S. Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming spoke on the Senate floor Thursday on what he referred to as the reckless tax and spending process in which the Democrats are engaged. Senator Barrasso said if Democrats want to go it alone on spending, then they can go it alone on raising the debt ceiling.
Barrasso said the $3.5 trillion is in addition to the $2 trillion already spent and added to the debt by this administration in a party-line vote earlier this year.
Barrasso said this is Democrat debt, it is Biden-Schumer-Pelosi debt, and Senate Republicans will not vote to burden future generations or to undermine social security and Medicare with this kind of reckless spending.

Quit trying to gaslight the people of Wyoming. Raising the debt ceiling is to cover expenses that have already been incurred- i.e. the $7 trillion hole that you and your fellow Republicans blew in the budget with the tax cuts for the rich with no long term benefit to anyone below the 90th percentile. Essentially you want to pull a bill skip and blame it on the Dems. Which, of course, how the rich got to be rich

No one has been charged with inciting or participating in an insurrection, don. No one, but they are being treated like political prisoners while being denied the right to due process.

I laud your efforts at trying to inject facts into these discussions, but I have found over the decades that people such as the leftwing ideologues who troll this board and others like it are just there to thrown hand grenades, spew hard left spin lines and propaganda, and engage in ad hominem attacks on anyone who dares to disagree with the “general line of the party” (as Lenin and Stalin used to say). As Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov said in an interview back in the 1980s about such people, “I can take them to a Soviet labor camp and show them, but they will not believe it.” People who write things such as “Jan 6th was an attempt to overthrow our government” or that the obvious scam of 2020 was a “legitimate election” have already over-imbibed on leftwing Kool Aid that there really isn’t any point to trying to have a sane conversation with them. Again, I applaud your attempt to do so, but just wanted to share with you what I’ve noticed about such individuals over the past several decades.
