The price was right this year and the youngsters were able to cash in at this year’s Sheridan County Fair Youth Livestock Sale.
In total buyers spent more than $700,000, making this year’s youth sale the largest ever.
Emily Swinyer is the Sheridan County 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator.
She says big crowds and big spenders helped make the event successful.
“The prices weren’t fluctuating, they weren’t all over the place, it was truly stable. The bottom didn’t fall out of our prices, which really makes a huge difference, because we want the kids at the end of the sale to still have the same benefits as those in the beginning or in the middle.”
Swinyer adds that more than 220 animals were sold at this year’s sale.
