The Sheridan Police Department will hold Ice cream with a Cop, giving the public an opportunity to get to know their officers and a furry friend from the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter.

The event will be Saturday, June 19, beginning at 11 a.m. and running until 1 p.m. next to Scoops ice cream stand in Kendrick Park.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, SPD Captain Tom Ringley told listeners Ice Cream with a Cop offers Sheridan’s children an opportunity to get to know their officers outside of a structured formal setting.

Along with ice cream, a patrol car and officers the SPD has partnered with the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter on a program known as Cops and Doggers. Sheridan officers will have a furry friend that is available for adoption along for the event.

The Sheridan Police Department is inviting everyone to attend the event and get to know your officers and perhaps, gain a new furry family member.
