An 18-year-old from Basin was arraigned on a felony charge Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

In late March, David Briscoe was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery for an alleged incident that occurred last year on December 17 in a parking lot of a business on Coffeen Avenue in Sheridan. According to court documents, Briscoe threatened an individual’s life after he pulled up his shirt to reveal a firearm in his waistband. Briscoe, at Tuesday’s hearing, pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.

District Court Judge John Fenn set the #3 stack jury trial for October 18 and scheduled the pretrial conference for September, 2 at 10 am. Aggravated Assault and Battery is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
