Johnson County’s Commissioners considered accepting a modified amount from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF Grant funding through the Wyoming Department of Family Services’ Community Partnership Initiative program.

Three area entities applied for $61,000 in funding: Compass Center for Families for $25,000; the Buffalo Children’s Center for $16,000; and

the Boys and Girls Club for $20,000.

Ashlea Bassett, assistant to the county commissioners, explained what the state had allocated for the county, which then distributes the funds to the three entities.

The commission voted to approve and accept the grant funding.
