While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, SPD Chief Travis Koltiska and Lieutenant Tom Ringley thanked the Sheridan community for a quiet holiday season.

The three year average for 2017-19 amounts to 216 DUIs a year in the City of Sheridan alone.

The Sheridan PD joined forces with the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Trauma Program to campaign against drunk driving.

Koltiska told Pulse listeners that the resulting DUI count is due to an appreciated community effort.

Ringley said the effort by the community to keep DUI numbers down resulted in a lower number of citations over the holidays than a typical weekend.

According to Ringley, the Sheridan PD issues three to five DUI citations on a typical weekend. The department also reports no major issues were reported from any Sheridan bars during the New Year’s celebrations.
