Sheridan Woman Arraigned on Drug Distribution Charge

An arraignment hearing was held virtually Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for a 29-year-old woman charged with allegedly selling methamphetamine in the Sheridan area. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Rachael Rodriguez, appearing via video conference from the Sheridan County Detention Center, entered a plea of “not guilty” to the charge of Delivery of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine. Rodriguez was arrested on September 3 for allegedly selling the drug on April 8 of this year. District Court Judge John Fenn set the three-day trial to begin on Monday, February 8 of 2021, and scheduled a pretrial conference for January 7 at 10:30 am. The charge of Delivery of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine, is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
In a separate case, Rodriguez is scheduled for trial on October 26 for her role in burglarizing a number of storage units in Sheridan County between March 1st and April 16 of this year. In late April, Rodriguez was charged with four counts of Burglary, one count of Attempted Burglary, and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary. If convicted on all six counts, Rodriguez faces up to 60 years in prison and fines of up to $60,000.
