JCHC CEO Reports to Board on SMH Change to Critical Care Facility

During their recent meeting, the Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center were given the latest on Sheridan Memorial Hospital announcing that they will be transforming into a critical access hospital.

He said it will be a major change for the entire region.

Senden said there are some financial benefits to becoming a critical access hospital, and that is likely the driving factor for the change.

He added that JCHC and SMH have been great partners and now it will be necessary to figure out what that partnership will look like and how they will continue to support and provide healthcare in the region.

He added that there will be more information coming as SMH makes the change.
