Donations Accepted for Those in Need

Published

On Saturday, March 28 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., before and during the No Kings Rally in Sheridan, organizers will be accepting donations for two entities, COMPASS – Center for Families in Sheridan, and The Food Bank of Wyoming, that help needy families in Sheridan and Wyoming.

Barbara Chase, who is a volunteer organization with the No Kings National Organization talked about what donations are needed.

She added that The Food Bank has so much purchasing power and sources of bulk food that they are not equipped to take food donations, but they will take cash or check donations.

According to the news release from the No Kings Rally, federal programs supporting local food purchasing by food banks and schools that have helped feed communities and support farmers have been cut. These changes will affect the amount of local good available, as well as funds to purchase goods.

The collection site will be in the parking lot behind the U.S. Bank Branch at the corner of Main and Coffeen. Everyone is urged to donate what they can to help the less fortunate in our community.
