New Positive COVID-19 Case in Johnson County

Johnson County has a new positive case of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases so far to 16.

On Friday, the Johnson County Public Health Nurse Manager was informed of the new positive test result for a middle-aged woman in the county.

According to a release from the county’s COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center (EOC), contact tracing and investigation have been completed, and no clear source of COVID-19 exposure for the new case could be identified.

Those identified to be a close contact to the new case have been notified by Johnson County Public Health and proper quarantine measures were given.

The EOC said in the release, “As travel and tourism increases throughout the summer, the potential for community spread greatly increases. Therefore, it is imperative that we remain vigilant and practice all appropriate hygiene and social distancing recommendations, including wearing a face covering when you cannot avoid close contact, within 6 feet of others.”

The current Johnson County COVID-19 Numbers are One active case; 16 lab confirmed cases; four probable cases; 18 recovered; and one death.
