WYDOT Discusses STIP with Jo Co Commission
The Wyoming Department of Transportation gave a presentation to the Johnson County Commission outlining the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for 2026-2031.
Scott Taylor, WYDOT District 4 Engineer, spoke to the commission about WYDOT’s change to the STIP presentations.
The projects for Johnson County are: in 2026, a mill and overlay on about 12 miles of Highway 16 west of Buffalo and a signal upgrade at Fort and Main and at Fort and Burritt in Buffalo.
In 2027, a mill and overlay with bridge replacement project on I-90 West of Buffalo.
In 2028, there I scheduled a micro surface project on I-25 near Middle Fork south of Buffalo.
Nothing is scheduled yet in 2029.
In 2030, a mill, level and overlay project on I-90 near Shell Creek.
And in 2031, a mill and overlay on I-90 east near Schoonover.
According to WYDOT, the six-year costs for these projects is estimated at nearly $61 million.
