Buffalo Council Awards Contract for Water Tank Rehab Project
Buffalo’s City Council considered a Notice of Award for the Buffalo Water Tank Rehabilitation Project.
City Works Director Kevin Silbernagel gave details on the proposal.
In an earlier Sheridan Media story, it was reported that in the $600,000 loan for the project, the city was given $288,460 in potential loan forgiveness and 0.75% interest on the balance of the loan.
According to Silbernagel, the 600,000-gallon water storage tank, located west of the city, was built in the mid-1990’s and is in need of a new interior surface due to 30-plus years of holding chlorinated water which caused the deterioration inside the tank.
The funding will be used to refurbish the interior of the tank, essentially giving the structure another 30 years of useful service to the city’s water system.
The council awarded the project to Carr Coatings of South Dakota.
