More from District Court:
A sentencing hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 22-year-old Julian Patino. District Court Judge Darci Phillips accepted the terms of the plea agreement Patino reached with the State, and sentenced him to 2 to 3 years in prison, suspended in favor of three years of supervised probation for the charge of accessory after the fact. Patino was ordered to pay $1,181 in restitution jointly and severally with three other co-defendants in the case. Judge Phillips also imposed $325 in court costs and assessments and $250 in public defender fees.
Patino was sentenced for his role in the Big Horn Y being burglarized during the early morning hours of June 17, 2024, when three co-defendants broke into the establishment and stole various forms of alcohol. Patino was the driver of the vehicle but did not enter the establishment with the co-defendants. Snapchat messages played a pivotal role in the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office investigation and the eventual arrests of Patino and the three co-defendants in July of 2024.
