City Code Amendment Ordinance Moves Forward on Second Reading

An ordinance to amend City of Sheridan code relating to courts, fines and imprisonment was approved unanimously on second reading by the Sheridan City Council this week. City Attorney Brad Thimmesch said that while Chapter 9 of City Code has been revised several times throughout the years, much of it has remained unchanged since 1937.
Thimmesch said that the majority of the revisions consist of formatting and reference changes and that several sections have been repealed in their entirety as they are no longer relevant. The ordinance to amend City code must be approved by the City Council one more time before it takes effect.
