My Grandpa crashed on that very curve back in the early ’70s while driving truck for Jim’s Water Service of Gillete.
He survived thanks to his heavy sleeping bag and the owners of Meadowlark Lodge finding him with his time nearly out.
Those same fine people, sadly, were killed in a crash on the Mountain a few years later.
