Sandy Hirz, Director of the Clearmont Historical Center, announced on March 26 that the 5th Annual Quilt Show at the Clearmont Historical Center has been extended through Sunday, April 6. Hirz said this extension is due to the crazy weather that the Clearmont area experienced in March.

She added that they have 73 quilts on display, and they have 34 quilted items made by Clearmont quilter Addie Cook. “That’s about half of our total number.” This year’s show is honoring Addie Cook.

In addition to Cook’s quilts, there is a display of her other collections, old buttons, marbles and thimbles.

Around 100 people have come through to view the show so far.

One quilt on display was made by Jacqui Belus and donated to the Clearmont Women’s Club to be raffled off. Monies raised will go towards the Ann Roebling Memorial Scholarship presented each year to a high school graduate. Tickets are $1 or 6 for $5.

The Clearmont Historical Center is open every day from 10-2, those interested in seeing the quilts can call the Center at 307-758-4685. “We will probably be here,” Hirz said.
