Ron RichterThe Sheridan City Council met for their second regularly scheduled business meeting of August Monday night. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The City Council awarded the West 12th Street Realignment Project to Northern Underground, the lowest qualified base bid, in the amount of $206,388. The project will include the construction of Krinkee Park along the north side of West 12th Street. City Public Works Director Hanns Mercer.
A request from Sheridan County to rezone the Sheridan County Fairgrounds was also an item of consideration by the City Council. First reading of the ordinance to rezone the Fairgrounds from R-1 Residence District to B-1 Business District was approved by the Council. Prior to the vote, County Commissioner Nick Siddle addressed the governing body and said the rezone is being requested to allow for a commercial sized electronic messaging center sign, which is not currently allowed in the R-1 zone district
The Council also approved third and final reading of an ordinance to rezone 15,246 square feet of property at 2308 Coffeen Avenue from R-4 residence district to B-1 business district. We’ll have more from the City Council meeting in future stories.
