A request from Sheridan County to rezone the Sheridan County Fairgrounds was also an item of consideration by the City Council. First reading of the ordinance to rezone the Fairgrounds from R-1 Residence District to B-1 Business District was approved by the Council. Prior to the vote, County Commissioner Nick Siddle addressed the governing body and said the rezone is being requested to allow for a commercial sized electronic messaging center sign, which is not currently allowed in the R-1 zone district
