The City of Sheridan and the HUB on Smith is continuing to look for volunteers willing to help remove snow for those unable to do so in the community.
The Hub on Smith has partnered with the City of Sheridan to help coordinate snow removal services for those in need within the Sheridan community. Known as Snow Patrol, the City of Sheridan processes and vets requests from citizens who request the service to ensure specific criteria are met. Made up mostly of seniors and those in the community physically unable to clear their walkways themselves, volunteers on Snow Patrol step up to ensure the work is done.
Sheridan Mayor Richard Bridger and City Administrator Stuart McRae made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, in part, to ask residents for a helping hand now that old man winter has arrived.

The Hub on Smith is recruiting and caring for the volunteers performing the service. Through the use of an app on their phone, volunteers are alerted to residents that need their service. Once the work is completed, the alert for that particular residence disappears.
McRae pointed out that the more volunteers step in to take care of the neighbors, the more likely volunteers will not have to travel far to lend a helping hand.

For businesses wishing to participate, recognition will be made through the Hub’s social media platforms as well as in their newsletter and other print media.
