cvannoyAll boys and girls are invited to the annual Santa Fly in on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. to watch Santa Claus arrive by airplane and tell him their Christmas wishes. The fly-in is hosted by the Sheridan Pilots Association, and they will provide hot cocoa with marshmallows, as well as candy canes. There will also be letters that the youngsters can fill out and mail to Santa. The event is free and open to the public.
Last year the pilot, Justin Heid explained that Santa came to Sheridan by plane instead of in his sleigh pulled by reindeer because the reindeer were resting up before their big night Christmas Eve, when they have to fly around the world delivering presents.
The event will be in the main terminal at the airport, and attendees are asked to park in the long-term parking lot.
Last year’s event drew a large crowd of eager children waiting to see Santa.
