Clearmont Community Center Auction Well Attended

The Annual Clearmont Community Center supper and auction drew a large crowd that filled all the tables in the Community Center basement. The barbeque ribs supper was prepared by chef Greg Rohrer and desserts were provided by community members.

At the beginning of the auction Mayor Chris Schock, representing The Community Center Board, presented an engraved plaque to Brenda Foster, in appreciation of her and her family’s contribution to the Center.

The auctioneers always add a little humor to the auction as well.

According to Amy Rowe, of the Clearmont Community Center Board, between the auction, the supper, private donations and the raffle proceeds, the Center brought in over $9,000 which Rowe said was the best auction they have had.

Baked goods donated by community members sold high, one pie bringing $100, and several bringing at the $50 mark. The highest seller was the donation of a gift certificate for a windshield replacement from Coda Glass in Buffalo, which brought $400. There were several donations of wine, some bottles with wine glasses attached, many bringing $30 and up. A mountain painting donated by Richard Bohlmann sold well, as did many gift baskets and gift certificates.

The Center would like to thank all the donors for their contributions, those who attended the supper and auction, and a big thank you to Brannian auction service, and auctioneers Larry Brannian, Dan Gay and Jacob Gay for their continuing support and help at the auction.

Rowe said they are looking forward to next year’s supper and auction on the last Sunday in September.
