cvannoyOver 100 People Attended the Brinton Museum Bighorn Rendezvous VIII, Quickdraw, Dinner & Art Auction on Saturday, August 26. There was a buffet supper and special music as well.
Kendra Heimbuck, Executive Director at The Brinton Museum, said that this was second fund raiser for the year.
She added that around 200 people came out to watch the artists create their pieces and visit with them on the Brinton lawn earlier in the day.
Artist Jerry Salinas, Phoenix, Arizona, who did the painting of a Native American, had this to say about his artwork and the Quick Draw.
Artist Julie Oriet of Cody, Wyoming has done the quick draw before and created the high selling painting, titled, “His Favorite Horse,” said this.
Fifty-percent of the proceeds from the auction went to the museum and 50% went to the artists. Several of the artists donated their share back to the museum.

Kelsey, Cody, WY; Tom Lockhart, Canon City, CO; David Mensing, Sisters, OR; Anton Nowels, Phoenix, AZ; Julie Oriet, Cody, WY; Gregory Packard, Montrose, CO; Gerald Shippen, Cody, WY; Kathy Wipfler, Jackson, WY; Scott Yeager, Woodland Park, CO; and Jerry Salinas, Phoenix, AZ.
Keimbuck said she wanted to thank the sponsors of the event, Terry and Claudia Winchell, Owners of Fighting Bear Antiques in Jackson, Wyoming and First Interstate Bank. She said a thank you also goes out to their supporting sponsors.
