Most employees within the Sheridan Memorial Hospital say they are pleased with the way things have been and currently are going.

The hospital recently conducted its yearly employee engagement survey which results in the hospital getting a score of 4.4 out of a possible 5.

Hospital President Mike McCafferty says that puts the hospital at about the 55th percentile for benchmark hospitals.

He adds the reason for the survey is to make sure employees have the right resources to do their job, make sure they’re being recognized and that employees are being supported in their work.

“It just helps gives us from department to department a little bit of a barometer in understanding of where people are at so we can try and improve to do the best that we can to support those people who are caring for our community and so it’s very helpful and we’ve got a positive trend in terms of engagement from year to year and where things are going and so we feel really good about that.”

About 653 employees, both full and part-time, responded to the survey which is about an 82% response rate.

McCafferty says the hospital was hoping for a response rate of about 90%.
