Online Scam Prevention Tips

Online scams come in many different forms and can be almost impossible to trace by law enforcement. Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Corporal Devereaux Johnson says that there are certain things people can look for to prevent from being the victim of an online scam.

Corporal Johnson talks about what you should do if you realize that you’re involved in a phishing scam.

Johnson said that it is a good idea to use the multi-factor authentication that some websites offer and that you should always change your passwords often, especially after a phishing attempt.
