SCLT to host avalanche training course

Sheridan Community Land Trust is offering an American Avalanche Institute course.
According to the SCLT, this course will cover rescue fundamentals, such as survival statistics, survival strategies and first response tactics.
Classroom training will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the University of Wyoming Watt Agriculture Center located at Sheridan College.
Field training will be held at Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area on Saturday, Feb. 25, or Sunday, Feb. 26.
This course is limited to 48 participants, with 24 max each participating in the field training days. Participants will choose which field training day will work with their schedules during registration. The SCLT reports that this training is available at no cost thanks to the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center.
