This year, the Public Seminar on Estate Planning will be taking place at the Hub on Smith.
According to the American Bar Association, estate planning is a process involving the counsel of professional advisors who are familiar with goals and concerns, assets and how they are owned, and family structure. It can involve the services of a variety of professionals, including a person’s lawyer, accountant, financial planner, life insurance advisor, banker and broker.
Understanding the use of wills, trusts and powers of attorney can be difficult for laymen on a regular day, let alone during the mourning process.
For 23 years, Sheridan and Johnson County Estate lawyers have teamed up to hold a free public seminar in order to help residents understand and navigate through estate planning. This year, the seminar will be taking place at the Hub on Smith in Sheridan.
Estate lawyer Tim Tarver made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program to talk on what will be discussed and why the Hub was chosen as a venue.
Hub on Smith Executive Director Carmen Rideout will be in attendance to answer questions regarding the many services offered by the Hub to help keep aging residents in their homes and how preparation now will save time and money later on.
The Public Seminar on Estate Planning will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Hub on Smith.
