Aaron PalmerThe Sheridan County Commission has approved a lease for a new ammuition manufacturing company to build a facility on lands in the Sheridan Airport Business Park.
Absaroka Valley Ammunition, LLC will lease Lot LA-9 in Block 1 of the business park, where they will set up a startup business that will manufacture, assemble, and sell small arms ammunition.
Dr. Michael J. Strahan, co-owner with Jim Weaver, spoke about the company’s plans at this week’s commission meeting.
The company will employ about 20 people in the beginning, but will hire additional people as they grow with the help of Sheridan College, according to Weaver.
The lease agreement sets the amount at just over $762 per month, or about $9,100 per year.
