Fourth of July Weekend Events at Lake De Smet

Lake Stop Resort on Lake De Smet has several events planned for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend. In a news release from the Lake Stop, it states that the events will include a fireworks display on Saturday July 2nd, starting at sundown, depending on any burn ban and the wind speed.

Food and package beer will be available for sale at the Lion’s Club Building courtesy of the Lake Stop Resort.

On July 3rd, the Lake Stop will host the first annual Lake Stop Fishing Derby. Tickets are for sale at the Lake Stop Resort front desk for $25.

Prizes of $200 will be awarded for the largest Trout, Kokanee, Walleye, and Char, aka Lake Trout. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the day.

The fisherman with the largest fish overall will win a Savage Axis 2, 65 Creedmoor, with a 3-9 Bushnell Scope sponsored by Sports Lure and Kokanee Joe’s, LLC!

Live music featuring One Shot will start at 7 p.m. at the Resort.
