TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers ran their current winning streak to seven straight after sweeping a double header in Cody Sunday afternoon.
The Troopers have ended some scoring of the woes that hurt them during the first couple weeks of the season by scoring a combined 25 runs in the two victories dominating the cubs 16-5 and 9-5.
Next up in a road double header at the Casper Oilers tomorrow then three straight home dates starting with a double header Thursday night against Cheyenne Post 6 with games at 5:00 and 7:00 they are also home this weekend against the Billings Halos and the 406 Flyers Saturday and Sunday games will be played at noon and 2:00 both days.
In all the Troopers will play 19 games through June 30th, Head coach Ben Phillips says they have started to rattle the bats and now it’s all arms on deck as they need plenty of innings from all their pitchers to get through the next two weeks.
Again the Troops are at home Thursday night against Cheyenne at 5 and 7 those games will be played at Redle field in Thorne-Rider park.
Phillips says they are hoping to get back on “Rottelini” field at Thorne-Rider stadium by the end of the month as the new artificial turf infield is expected to be installed soon.
