Sheridan HS Football: The Sheridan High School Football team won their toughest challenge to date this season.

This past Friday, the Broncs beat previously undefeated Campbell County 41-14, to improve their record to 8-0, run their undefeated streak to 39 straight games and secure the #1 seed for the upcoming 4A playoffs.

Quarterback Ty Gilbertson threw for 5 touchdowns and around 300 yards in the air.

Normally, Sheridan has been a running team, but Head Coach Jeff Mowry says he gives credit to Campbell County for making the Broncs change things up throughout the game.

Sheridan’s 39-game winning streak is now the 4th longest active high school football winning streak in the country, and the longest west of Ohio.

The Broncs conclude the 2024 regular season this Friday at Laramie.


Tongue River at Big Horn Football: Quarterback Avon Barney threw for 3 touchdowns, ran for 2 others, and his teammates helped out with a punt 6 and a pick 6, as Big Horn easily beat Tongue River 55-6 in this year’s version of the Thunder Bowl.

With the win, the Rams secure the #1 seed out of the East for the upcoming 2A playoffs.

BH will conclude the regular season this Friday at Upton-Sundance, while TR finishes at home vs. Glenrock.


Sheridan County HS Volleyball: Sheridan split home conference games this past weekend.

The Lady Broncs lost at home vs. Laramie, and won at home vs. Cheyenne South.

Sheridan will conclude the regular season this Friday at home vs. Campbell County and Saturday at Thunder Basin.

Big Horn went 3-0 this past weekend winning Thursday at home vs. Tongue River, Friday at home vs. Wright and on Saturday at Moorcroft.

The Lady Rams next play Friday at Sundance.

Tongue River split games recently.

On Thursday, they lost at Big Horn, but recovered to win on Saturday at 3A Glenrock.

The Lady Eagles next play Friday at Wright and will have their home finale on Saturday vs. Rocky Mountain.

Arvada-Clearmont had a rough weekend, dropping a pair of 5-set thrillers at home.

The Lady Panthers lost on Thursday vs. the Buffalo JV team and on Friday vs. Kaycee.

A-C has 2 more home games this coming weekend.

They will play on Friday at home vs. Hulett and on Saturday at home vs. Midwest.


Sheridan HS Cross Country: The Sheridan boys placed 1st and the girls 2nd at the 4A East Regional meet held this past Friday at Cheyenne.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs, as well as both teams at Big Horn and Tongue River will head to Cheyenne this coming Saturday to run in the state meet.


Sheridan HS Girls Swimming and Diving: Sheridan placed 6th out of 15 teams at the Cheyenne East Invitational.

This Friday and Saturday is the regional meet at Gillette.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks split games this past weekend at Butte.

On Friday, they lost 6-4.

In Saturday’s game, Butte scored 48 seconds into the game, and the Hawks would respond 25 seconds later, and 48 seconds after that, to take control and win 7-4.

Sheridan is back at home this coming Friday and Saturday to take on Rapid City.


University of Wyoming Football: The University of Wyoming lost at San Jose State on Saturday 24-14.

Quarterback Evan Svoboda was 14 of 27 passing for 194 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Backup QB Kaden Anderson was 4 of 11 passing for 116 yards, 1 touchdown and was picked off twice.

Catching those TD’s were Justin Stevenson and John Gyllenborg.

Stat wise, the Pokes had 310 yards through the air, but they were intercepted 3 times, and had only 82 yards on the ground.

The defense had its good and bad moments.

The bad part was that San Jose State had nearly 500 yards of total offense.

The good part was, the D came up with 2 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and a blocked field goal.

The other bad part was the number of points that the brown and gold offense scored off of those turnovers…zero.

UW will try to turn things around this coming Saturday at home vs. Utah State.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche finally got into the win column this season, and did it twice.

On Friday, the Avs won at home vs. Anaheim, 4-3 in overtime, and won yesterday at San Jose 4-1.

The team next plays tomorrow at Seattle.


World Series Baseball 2024: The 2024 World Series is set.

Last night, the LA Dodgers doubled up the New York Mets 10-5, to win the best of 7 National League Championship Series 4-games-to-2.

They will take on the New York Yankees who won the American League Championship Series vs. Cleveland 4-games-to-1.

Game 1 is this coming Friday at LA.
