A Sheridan Lady Bronc wrestler will continue to wear the blue while competing on the mat.
Bridgette Price has signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to join the women’s wrestling team, at Dickinson State University in North Dakota.
In each of the past 2 seasons at Sheridan, she has placed 4th in the state meet at 170 pounds.
Price says she wrestled a little bit in her younger days, then made a comeback 2 years ago when wrestling became a varsity sport in Wyoming.
She explains why she enjoys the sport, and what she thinks it was that the Lady Blue Hawk coaches saw in her.
“I love the physical and mental aspect. It’s such a mental sport, I would say it’s 90-10. Ten percent of it is physical, but 90 percent is that mental, overcoming it. Your body is tired, you got to keep pushing though. I think they saw my drive. I am not one of the best wrestlers I’d say, I definitely do have my challenges, but I don’t give up. I keep pushing, I figure out ways to come back and come back better. I always try to have that positive mind set and everything with it too.”
Price says she is considering a major in nursing with a minor in fire sciences.
Last season was the first season for the Dickinson State Women’s Wrestling Team.
