Cowgirls win MWC Opener / Pokes Open Tourney Tomorrow with CSU / SHS Regional Hoops Start Thursday

MWC TOURNAMENT HOOPS – The Wyoming Cowgirls opened up the Mountain West Conference tournament in Las Vegas last night and beat Utah state 64-59 after the victory here’s Head coach Gerald Mattinson. the Cowgirls play Boise state tonight at 9:30.

The Cowboys take on Colorado state tomorrow pregame is at 5:30 with the tip at 6:00 on KWYO and 106.9 FM.

2-A STATE TOURNAMENT HOOPS – The Tongue River Eagles and the Big Horn rams open up the boys 2-A state tournament bracket Thursday in Casper. Tongue River will play Southeast while the Rams take on Kemmerer.

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS – The Sheridan high school basketball teams open the 4-Aeast regional tournament Thursday morning at Thunder Basin high school in Gillette

The Lady Broncs play Cheyenne East at 10:30 the Broncs will follow at noon against Cheyenne South we will have both games live for you on KWYO and 106.9 FM and on-line on our web stream at sheridanmedia.com

The Lady Broncs will be one of the underdogs looking for a couple of upsets this week to try and qualify for the state tournament head coach Larry Ligocki says they are just trying to keep a positive attitude as the get ready to play Cheyenne East Thursday.

And he says the girls got their week off to a good start last night.

SC HOOPS – The Sheridan college Lady Generals play the second round of the Region Nine tournament as bracket play begins in Casper Thursday they will take on Western Nebraska Thursday at 1:00.

INDOOR TRACK – The high school indoor track season will close out this weekend in Gillette the state indoor championships start Friday.

JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Frontier division hockey playoffs start this week the Sheridan Hawks will start their playoff series next week.

In the first round this week Gillette is playing Cody and Great Falls is playing Helena both are best of three series.
