EAGLES / RAMS HOOPS – When 1-A and 2-A regional basketball tournaments wrapped up Saturday only two teams from Sheridan county had qualified for the state championships which get underway in Casper Thursday the Tongue River Eagles and the Big Horn Rams both made with the Rams winning their East region title and Eagles qualifying as a three seed.

Tongue River will play Southeast in their opener Thursday the Rams will play Kemmerer in the first round.

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS – The Sheridan high school basketball teams closed out the regular season at Natrona county the Lady Broncs lost 73-49 the Broncs beat the Mustangs 58-45 and locked up a number one seed for the regional tournament that tips off Thursday in Gillette.

The Broncs pulled away in the 4th quarter to post the victory here’s Head coach Jeff Martini.

Now all the preparation is on the regional opener Thursday.

The 4-AEast regional tournament tips off Thursday morning at Thunder Basin high school in the Lady Broncs play Cheyenne East at 10:30 the Broncs will follow at noon against Cheyenne South we will have both games live for you on KWYO and 106.9 FM and on-line on our web stream at sheridanmedia.com.

SC HOOPS – The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals started Region nine tournament play Saturday the Lady Generals survived and advanced while the Generals saw their season end.

The Lady Generals drilled Laramie county 87-53 to make the final eight bracket tournament which starts Thursday in Casper.

The Generals lost at Central Wyoming 92-76 to finish off their season.

UW HOOPS – The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls open up the Mountain West Conference tournament in Las Vegas the Cowgirls will play Utah state tonight at 9:30 in their first game. The Pokes take on Colorado state Wednesday the tip off is at 6:00.

STATE WRESTLING – The Bronc wrestlers finished 6th at the state wrestling championships eight Broncs ended up placing with Hayden Crow as the Broncs lone state champ.

Hunter Goodwin and Reese Osbourne placed 2nd, Colson Coon, Brock Steel, Ethan Johnson and Jason Vela all 4th and Landon Wood was 5th.

HAWKS JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks dropped both games at Bozeman, Montana over the weekend they lost 4-3 Friday and 5-2Saturday. The Hawks have this week off to prepare for the playoffs.

STATE INDOOR TRACK – The high school indoor track season will close out this weekend in Gillette the state indoor championships start Friday.
